Tell us about yourself.
I am Yulonda T. Griffin, better known as Dr. G. I am ordained, licensed, called, and elected to preach and teach the gospel of the good news of the return of the coming of Yeshua, the Messiah. Currently, I'm the founder of Beit El ‘The Place Where God LIV”, an online bible study of believers searching the scriptures. Known as a Master Teacher, I host a weekly bible study on Wednesday nights at 6 pm and Torah Parasha on Saturdays at noon Central Standard Time, paralleling the Old and New Testaments.
Saved over 30 years ago under the pastoral guidance of Bishop Paul S. Morton, God blessed me to go from glory to glory being elevated from minister to elder and Chief Administrator of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship serving 25 years. My most precious prize is Yeshuah and the call placed upon my life as an End-time Watchman. I love the study of the end-time and celebrating the Lord’s feasts.
When I'm not mesmerized by the bible and hosting community events, I'm a Small Business and Finance Consultant, the CEO of LIV Consultants, a financial company committed to helping individuals and small business owners grow their money and business.
I have 40+ years of business experience encompassing the designations of Certified Business, Finance, Credit, Real-estate, and Mortgage Consultant. For more information referencing my professional background please visit www.livconsultants.com.
Currently, I'm an institutional professor, with a Doctor of Philosophy in Human Services with a specialization in Management of Nonprofit Agencies from Capella University and an MBA in Global Management. My newest book, “The Truth – A Christian Catechism” is my first stab as an indie author writing a Christian catechism. In my new book “The Truth”, I challenge readers to search the scriptures seeking the true meaning of Jesus. In 'The Truth" I challenge readers to test the bible against the 10,000 synthetic religions of the world.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, a small city with a huge heart. New Orleans is a majority Catholic city of faith believers; I was, too.
I departed my Catholic beliefs and began moving inside the Baptist faith, and thereafter I began believing in the Full Gospel. After witnessing the different religious organizations and countless unethical acts, God called me out of all the man-founded churches to study God's Word at home. Thereafter, I began Beit El the Place Where God LIV, an online bible study group. I offered an Apostolic Leadership Course, and those who participated revealed just how blind Christians are holding on to what man created and not God. I then decided to write 'The Truth'.
I did not know I could write so much information, nor did I know I had so much inside of me. The students of my apostolic leadership course encouraged me to begin writing.
What was your journey to getting published like?
Because I had written several professional books discussing finance and credit, I did not have any challenges with publishing. My challenges came when it was time to upload to the Amazon platform and marketing.
What’s the best piece of feedback you’ve ever received?
Just do it! Never give up. Only a failure beats a try.
What advice would you give to aspiring writers?
My advice for new authors – create a plan and budget. Project as much as possible before writing the book. Search out and hire people with a track record of success to do what you can't or know-how. Understanding, marketing and public relations is a must.
What’s a fun fact about you that your readers might not know?
I love daring amusement park rides, skydiving, zip lining, and watching true stories.
What’s your guilty pleasure book or genre?
My guilty pleasure book is Drew Brees, Come Back Stronger.
What’s your favorite quote about writing?
“If a story is in you, it has to come out.”
—William Faulkner
When you’re not writing, how do you like to spend your time?
I like spending my time binge-watching movies about true stories.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first story I ever read that had an impact on my life is the story of Jesus.
What has inspired you and your writing style?
I'm good at two things: business and the bible. Two subjects that most people do not understand. I believe it is my duty and honor to share what I know to inspire and help others.
How do you deal with negative reviews?
Honestly, I take negative reviews with a grand of salt. The reader can see what the writer cannot. I take negative reviews as opportunities to improve.
How do you connect with your readers?
I hope I connect with my readers through my writing. I know I connect when I'm speaking or teaching from my material. I connect by telling the truth of my life stories, especially the bad times, mistakes, and how I always seem to land on my feet.
What’s next for you as a writer?
My next is writing another book, and prayerfully not taking three years.
Are there any Easter eggs or hidden messages in your work?
I don't believe I have any hidden messages because I believe Christians are to always walk in the light and truth.
How do you approach writing dialogue for your characters?
Because I write about spiritual subjects, most of my characters' dialogues are already written. Therefore, I write it just like the bible says it.
If you could share one thing with your fans, what would that be?
Hold on CHANGE is coming!
