Review of: A Deal With God: The Power of One
Reviewer: Shirley A. Hammond
Michael Haden invites readers of “A Deal With God: The Power of One” to walk in the shoes of an engaging female who overcame tremendous obstacles and found her place in God.
Rebecca Johnson puts readers at ease as they walk alongside her while she walks alongside God.
When circumstances test her meddle, she touches our hearts with her courage and faith. Other characters offer the same pull on our heartstrings.
Unexpected, unscripted act interrupts Rebecca’s life – and the storyline gets more interesting. Somehow, she is able to understand what the future will hold if something miraculous doesn’t happen. But it does.
Haden manages to carry a story that very few writers can handle. The complexity of the story is also a bonus, instead of a drawback. Although the story is not linear, it is not too complicated to enjoyably follow. Somehow page-by-page we see evidence of a wonderfully weaved story that delivers what it promises in the beginning.
We see Haden pair tragedy and triumph in a superior way. Readers will also wonder how spiritually rich his own life must be in order for him to write us a book like this.
“A Deal With God: The Power of One” should be on your reading list. The sooner the better.
